Is a shifted pelvis the explanation?

Postpartum back or pelvic discomfort should not automatically be attributed to bones being out of alignment. Recovery varies, and muscle, joint, pelvic floor, nerve, or other concerns may need assessment. Discuss persistent symptoms with your maternity or primary care clinician.

What should an evaluation address?

Explain the delivery and recovery history, symptoms, daily activities, bladder or bowel concerns, and any restrictions. Tell the clinician about surgery, medicines, and previous pelvic or back problems. Some concerns may warrant referral to an appropriately trained rehabilitation provider.

When can I return to exercise?

Ask the treating clinician about a gradual plan suited to your recovery. This article does not prescribe a universal core routine or promise that adjustments restore pelvic structure. Exercise tolerance and symptoms should guide reassessment.

When should I seek urgent care?

Severe pain, fever, heavy bleeding, chest pain, shortness of breath, or other postpartum warning signs needs urgent medical attention. New weakness, loss of bladder or bowel control, or groin numbness also requires urgent assessment. Do not wait for a manual therapy visit.
